As I prepare to transition from my current role as interim campus president here
at WVU Potomac State College, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to each
one of you! Connecting with such caring and dedicated alumni has been a rewarding
experience. Your support and enthusiasm are refreshing, and I have learned from
your experiences.
Homecoming is always a special time on campus when alumni can return and remember
their experiences fondly. Going home means something a little different for everyone,
but for WVU Potomac State College alumni, going home evokes special feelings
of comfort.
An experienced servant leader and higher education administrator with ties to the
Mountain State has been named the next president of WVU Potomac State College.
Jerry Wallace, president of Danville Community College, in Danville, VA, will begin
his term as PSC president on Sunday, December 1.

Samantha became passionate about baking when she was younger while watching her grandmother
decorate cakes for friends and family. While attending Southern Garrett High School,
in Oakland, MD, she participated in the culinary program where she ran the Baking
Station, a student-led business. While attending WVU Potomac State College, she
received the foundation to start her own business. Now, Samantha is the proud owner
of Sam's Sweets in Westernport, MD.
Jamie Kelly, an elementary education major from Front Royal, VA, was presented
with the Catamounts Climb Higher Award for September 2024 at WVU Potomac State
College.
WVU Potomac State College alumnus, Gary Parish, is endeavoring to create an endowed
scholarship, the Catherine Parish Memorial Nursing Scholarship, in memory of
his late wife, Cathy. This heartfelt initiative aims to help aspiring nursing
students pursue their passion; thereby, continuing Cathy’s legacy of compassion,
dedication, and service.
